The Golden Lion

Beers were local and good. Service was lovely and friendly whilst ruthlessly efficient. The main lady at the bar really knows what she’s doing. Food was excellent (chicken supreme and roasted vegetables, had it 2 nights running.) A really decent place for beers and food.

This is such a fabulous place, catering for all sorts. Locals and tourists alike flock to the very welcoming environment. The staff are friendly and super efficient giving it a homely feel yet very professional. The attention to detail is , personally, so thrilling to see. If I were running a place ever, here's the blueprint. We've loved it. Oh and a word about the ales, wonderful.

We had a fabulous time at The Golden Lion, well furnished rooms, fabulous bed (great sleep), lovely spacious bar area and the best cooked breakfast I have had in along time with a decent selection as well. Teas and coffees were lovely (Taylors). Top notch and highly recommended. Car parking is cheap and literally a 1 min walk. Thanks to the lovely staff.

The staff were so friendly and helpful, especially Sarah who was fabulous. Breakfast was amazing, would definitely recommend.

Absolutely love Golden Lion Settle! The large private rooms provide a perfect space for relaxing with friends or family. They have a fantastic selection of beers and other drinks to suit every taste. The in-house restaurant is simply fantastic—delicious food, excellent service, and a great atmosphere. Definitely a top spot to visit!"

Had an evening in Settle and stayed at the Golden Lion on the main street. Staff were friendly and approachable, dealt with all my requests quickly and with humour. I appreciated that. Room was excellent for my overnight stay as was the Yorkshire breakfast.

Had a one night stay. Bed and breakfast. Nice room with comfortable bed. Food great; (had dinner there as well as breakfast). Good choice of well kept beers. Staff efficient and friendly. Recommended.

Home from a 1 night stay here, my husband and I really enjoyed. Rooms clean and warm, great facilities and options for tea coffee hot chocolate ect and the bathroom was huge. We had the venison pie and pork belly, then desert and we enjoyed everything! The breakfast was a very good size and really was delicious but the lovely big plates make it look small initially - it is not small! Great options for smaller plates vegetarians ect and the side with the yogurt fruit ect was fresh and plentiful. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, and despite being above a busy pub we didn't find it noisy at all. The bed was soft and we prefer a firm mattress but that isn't a negative we both slept well, overall we had a lovely stay and wouldn't hesitate to return settle is a very sweet little village.

Really friendly and funny staff. Makes a difference. Great pints. We had a dog and a toddler in tow which isn’t always welcomed so thank you for making us feel welcome.

We booked a classic double room which although small was bright and beautifully designed. Furnishings are of excellent quality. Plenty of convenient sockets and although no wardrobe there were enough hangers for a short stay. The tea tray was set up nicely and there are White Company toiletries. The shower was over a bath and decently powerful. Staff were friendly and breakfast excellent. All in all an enjoyable stay that was very good value.
